Signed-off-by: and git

Filed under: projects — bjk @ 10:33 pm

I have just discovered what the Signed-off-by: line in a git commit means to most people. I assumed that it was the person who committed the commit and not necessarily the person who wrote it. This is a mistake on my part. It should be considered the person who wrote or submitted the patch. So when you see these lines in previous git commits please think of them as the Author: name and email and not mine own.
